Join Matt for your own personal tour of Glastonbury guided by the trees. We’ll discover the hidden treasures in the lanes and fields of Avalon. You will learn about the trees and about life in the town, and hear of the myths and mystery attached to the land.

Matt will guide you to the popular tourist spots, landmarks and point you in the direction of some beautiful places, known only to the locals – all guided by the magnificent trees of Avalon. Matt is a poet and musician and will also sing some songs and recite seasonal poetry inspired by the land and environments in which we find ourselves.

About your guide

Matt is a local poet and musician and a resident of Glastonbury for 12 years and has lead tours in the area for 6 years. Matt leads individuals, couples, small and large groups into the Glastonbury landscape for short excusrions, or day long adventures. During the tours, Matt talks about the trees from a creative, cultural, and healing perspective, he loves taking inspiration from nature, and is most at home in the fields, woods, and lanes of Glastonbury.

He can provide formal tuition on tree identification and also works in themes of spirituality, creativity, local folklore, the history of Glastonbury, the mysteries of Avalon, myth legends, and how this is all tied together by the natural history and the lay of the landscape of Avalon.
